                  important initial considerations for installation.

This is PTF 7BA0001 for product 7BARSA1 - Version V5R2M0
                  (Barsa Automatic Partition Resource Manager).

Dated 2003-02-21  Installs changes to library QBARSA.
                  This V5R2M0 release of APRM will work for primary
                  partitions on V5R1M0 or V5R2M0 of OS/400 and secondary
                  partitions on V4R4M0 through V5R2M0 of OS/400.

PTF install instructions:
-------------------------

You need apply this PTF only in the primary partition.  When APRM is
restarted in the primary partition, the secondaries will reconnect and the
new code will automatically propagate to them (with the PTF *PERManently
applied regardless of how you applied it in the primary).

The cover letter (included in the PTF) is also available for download.
To get the downloadable PTF itself to the point of usability, you will
need to create an empty *SAVF on the primary partition of your system
(e.g., MYSAVF in library MYSTUFF) and either FTP the attachment (in
BINARY mode, please) to it or copy the attachment to the IFS of your
iSeries (e.g., into file "/home/7BA0001.savf") and then copy that stream
file from the IFS to the save file with a command such as:

     CPYFRMSTMF     FROMSTMF('/home/7BA0001.savf')
               TOMBR('/qsys.lib/mystuff.lib/mysavf.file') 
               MBROPT(*REPLACE)
               CVTDTA(*NONE)

You can then load the PTF with:

     LODPTF    LICPGM(7BARSA1)
               DEV(*SAVF)
               SAVF(MYSTUFF/MYSAVF)

This will copy the PTF and its cover letter to your system.  You may
then apply it (after ENDAPRM and cessation of any other function that
uses library QBARSA such as WRKAPRM, CFGAPRM, etc. and the OpNav plugin).

Please download and read the cover letter and especially note that you
only need apply this PTF to your primary partition.
