APRM® How to determine your i5 system's firmware level
- On the HMC, click on "Licensed Internal Code Maintenance" in the left hand Navigation area.
- Click on "Licensed Internal Code Updates".
- In the main window, click on "Change Licensed Internal code for the current release".
- A "Target Object Selection" window will open in which will be listed those Managed Systems
that the HMC can manage. Highlight the specific managed system that you want to check
the level of firmware on and click on the OK button.
- A "Change Licensed Internal Code" window will open. Select the "View System Information"
radio button and click on OK.
- A "Specify LIC Repository" window will open. Select the "None" radio button and click OK.
A window will open and show the firmware levels for the managed system.
- The EC number in the first column will show the current engineering change in the format
01SFnnn where nnn needs to be 225 or higher.
- The "Activated Level" indicates the specific level of code that the managed system
is currently running. This level should be 96 or higher for EC number 01SF225. If
a more recent EC level is shown, then the activated level can be any value.
Notes:
- The EC number is analogous to a Version number and Activated level is analogous
to a release number.
- The "Installed Level" refers to the current level that is Temporarily applied and the "Accepted
level" refers to the level that is Permanently applied. The Activated
level will therefore be the same as whichever level, temporary or permanent,
the managed system is currently operating from.
